About Me

Carla Valentine is a native New Yorker of Honduran decent. Carla began her artistic training at HB Studios, New Conservatory Theatre and NYU's Creative Arts Team.

She has performed on various New York stages including Henry St. Settlement, Intar-53, PS 122 and the Nuyorican Poet's Cafe.

Since moving to LA, Carla has made several National Commercials and appeared in THE POLITICIAN  created by Ryan Murphy & Brad Falchuk, Judd Apatow's LOVE and she was also featured in the hit  CBS series S.W.A.T.

Her film credits include the Golden Globe awarded, Oscar nominated hit film LADY BIRD, directed by Greta Gerwig and the Amy Poehler directed film MOXiE! Other film credits:

Stalker,  Huella, Stronger Than Pretty, Take Me Home, Gone, Dust, The Pill, Amexica, Bad, Night of The Dead, and Traces of Tragedy.

LA theatre credits: Cumbia De Mi Corazon, La Casa De Bernarda Alba at the Bilingual Foundation of the Arts and Mae West's SEX for Buzzworks Theater Company.

Carla also appeared in the west coast premiere of Charles Busch's Our Leading Lady; the west coast premiere of Power in The Blood by Sarah Bewley; Kissinup to Mr. Bliss and A Hill Too High by Susan C. Hunter; Josefina Lopez's The Cleaning Lady at Casa 0101; Suzan Lori Parks' 365 Days/Plays Festival with the Mad Scene Theatre Company; The Chinese Massacre with the Circle X Theatre Company; Splendor in the Grass with the Underground Theatre Company and originated the lead role of (Emma) in Shout out Above Life's Storms, I have Wings to Fly by Meme Kelly.

Carla has participated in the Hollywood Fringe Festival with (Don't Talk About it, Spit About it) by Alex Alpharaoh and (Life's A Bitch And So Am I) by Touch Brandon; in which Carla starred, produced and co-directed.

Carla frequently performs a one-woman historical presentation of Biddy Mason (1818-1891) that she developed with the Pasadena Museum of History.
